In Pakistan, where being a follower of Christ often comes with significant challenges, Pastor Peter* exemplifies faith in action. Working with FEBC's partner, Pastor Peter and his wife, Rebekah*, dedicate their lives to sharing the Gospel while meeting the community’s practical needs through initiatives like health campaigns, tailoring classes, and community radio broadcasts.
Peter’s journey into ministry began through Shahid*, the leader of "Bright Home," a project addressing family violence and promoting health transformation through women and girls. This integral mission—combining spiritual outreach with practical care—deeply resonated with Peter, who says, "When people see that you care about them and their physical needs, they listen closely to what you have to say." His ministry reflects James 2:16-17, emphasising that faith is made complete through action.
Initially eager to debate with those of different beliefs, Pastor Peter matured in his faith, embracing Jesus’ command to love and pray for enemies (Matthew 5:44). Now, he serves alongside Rebekah, who teaches theology and runs a home-based beauty salon to support their family. Together, they embody the power of faith to break down barriers and extend God’s love to all.
This legacy of faith runs deep in Peter’s family. His father, Daniel, endured imprisonment, torture, and relentless persecution during his military service for sharing the Gospel. Despite unimaginable suffering, Daniel's faith remained steadfast, echoing Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9: "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed."
FEBC's Partners continue to shine the light of Christ in Pakistan, reaching across religious divides through acts of love and powerful broadcasts. Pastor Peter reminds us that meeting physical needs opens hearts to hear the Gospel, embodying Jesus’ call to take up the cross and follow Him (Luke 9:23).
