A message from Kevin – March ’19

Be reminded this Easter.

As Easter approaches, I am reminded of the redemption we have received through Jesus Christ. Easter reminds us that we have been liberated from the slavery of sin and death. Redemption implies going from something to something else – at Easter, its Jesus taking us from darkness to light, from death to life, from bondage to freedom.

For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. – Col.1:13-14

How thankful I am that we need not wait on Easter to be reminded of the redemption on offer. At FEBC we see God’s transforming and redeeming work each day. We remain confident in His ongoing work and mercy throughout the year.

Redemption is liberating, rescuing, saving, delivering, releasing – all of which you’ll read in the stories contained in this edition of Skywaves. Such as in Thailand, a country steeped in Buddhism. Or Indonesia, a majority Muslim country. Both are examples of countries where God is releasing and saving many.

Read of redemption in India, where God is liberating women and children, saving them from sex trafficking and harm. Our programs teach that all people are made in God’s image, and our follow-up shares the new freedom found in Jesus’ saving grace.

Following from our most recent donor letter sharing how FEBC is reaching those with a disability, I’m also excited and thankful to God for the story about how FEBC Vietnam is reaching the deaf community with the Gospel. So many things to stir your hearts.

Thank you for your continued partnership. May you be blessed this Easter and by the stories you read in this Skywaves. I pray they will remind you of our eternal promise in the Lord Jesus:

I know that my redeemer lives,

and that in the end he will stand on the earth
