Grandma Thongjuea is a regular listener our Thai language broadcasts. Her story shows how the simple sound of a radio can break the silence with God’s voice—the same voice that whispers, "Do not be afraid, for I am with you”.
Despite not believing in God, Grandma Thongjuea would often call into our station to talk, as she was lonely and needed someone to chat with.
Week by week, as she tuned in, something began to change. The silence that once filled her home began to lift, and she could hear Jesus’ voice calling her name. Filled with the joy of knowing Jesus, she rang our station, this time to share her joy and to ask how to live a life devoted to Him.
Our team contacted a local church near her, where she was baptised by the pastor. Today, Grandma Thongjuea regularly attends the church and has been embraced by her new community.
What an incredible testament to the power of media—breaking through the barriers of distance and isolation, and carrying the hope of Jesus to someone who may otherwise not have had the opportunity to hear!
