Decimated radio stations. Power cuts. Families torn apart. The constant threat of bombing. Three years on, the fear of war still pulses through every layer of Ukrainian society, leaving chaos and destruction in its wake. And yet, hope is rising above the rubble.
Our local team faces the same threats as every Ukrainian. Each one has lost someone they love. Their numbers grow smaller as more staff are conscripted. But with your continued financial and prayer partnership, they have found the strength to endure. Against the odds, they’ve hosted much-needed retreats, strengthened counselling training, and raised up new leaders when it mattered most.
In the town of Pokrovsk, just five kilometres from the frontline, FEBC was the last station left broadcasting as fighting escalated. “I don’t understand how your signal is still on the air,” one official in Kyiv told our team. “All the others have been taken out.” And yet, by God’s grace, the message of hope kept going out, until a devastating attack finally brought it to silence.
Days later, a soldier arrived at one of our offices in another city carrying a box. “I’m glad I found you,” he said, opening it to reveal a transmitter, cracked, half-burned, still warm. He had risked his life to bring it in.
Through tears he told us: “FEBC was my lifeline, my source of hope as I lived through hell: losing friends, sleepless nights, wondering why I was still alive. I don’t know your names, but I know this voice. I heard it every night. It kept me sane. To you, it may look like a piece of equipment. But through it I met Jesus. He is now my Lord and Saviour. I’m alive because of what I heard.”
And then he was gone. We never learned his name. But we know it’s written where it matters most, in the Lamb’s Book of Life. That soldier’s hope was only possible because of people like you. You stood with this team through blackouts, frontline broadcasts, and nights when no one knew if the signal would hold. Because of your support, the message kept going out.

Pastor Sergey is an FEBC broadcaster currently also serving as a Chaplain for the Ukrainian Army.
Since the war began in 2022, FEBC’s content has been viewed over 100 million times. More than 300,000 people have responded to broadcasts. Over 50,000 have received phone counselling. And in just the past 12 months, 2,100 people have committed their lives to Christ. Thousands more have made that decision since the war began. Praise God!
None of this would be possible without your prayers and your generosity. In a country overwhelmed by devastation, you are helping to keep Ukraine’s voices of hope alive.
Through God’s grace and your faithful partnership, we pray that the Good News will continue to break through the darkness until the day peace is restored.
