Talas is a town in northwestern Kyrgyzstan, located in the Talas River valley between two mountain ranges. Praise God that FEBC is now broadcasting a strong FM signal into the region.
The antenna tower is 15 metres high and, via satellite dish, the relay station receives the live FM radio signal from Bishkek, over 293 kilometres away.
Give thanks for the talents and ingenuities of our technicians who undertake installation and maintenance. They have to cover all eventualities given the remote locations.
For example, all the pieces, including cables, need to be strongly secured against bad weather – particularly important in such rugged, mountainous and high altitude conditions. Or the electricity feeds, which need to be carefully covered in order to protect it from damage by animals that attempt to bite through!
