God’s harvesting time among the Yao people in Malawi

Over the past few months, FEBC has been closely documenting the spiritual growth of the Yao Muslim people in Malawi through the radio ministry. From new believers being baptized, listener clubs forming and a new church launching – Malawi has been an exciting place of God’s work.

Most recently, FEBC’s teams were blessed with the opportunity to visit districts in Balaka, Mangochi, Machinga, Chiradzulu, Ntcheu and Zomba, as well as a few regions in Mozambique. Many of the villagers expressed their gratitude for being taught the Word of God. This is such a precious gift since a majority of them are illiterate. During their visit, the team met Wafi*, a listener and elder from the area who was once Muslim. Now he is leading over 120 listener clubs and many have shown a keen desire to join a church and be discipled in the Word. Wafi shares; “I am very grateful for what you are doing, among other things, FEBC Radio in Malawi has brought many Yao Muslims, both men and women, to Christ. Today, there are many groups gathering around radios listening and believing. Thank you!”

During this recent visit, 30 villagers who were members of Islam accepted Jesus Christ. Our role to the Yao people is to impart knowledge and the basic truth about Jesus Christ and encourage them to be responsible members of His church. Please pray for our work among the Yao people, that more will come to Christ and the programs broadcast will continue to change hearts. Also pray for those making this stand, as it comes with a cost.
