Dear Friends,
I pray the recent field updates reaches you in good health. We continue to pray for you and your family with the unpredictable coronavirus situation here in Australia. This global pandemic reminds me of John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
In these challenging and uncertain times, I am delighted to be able to share with you some positive and exciting updates from the field and positive ways that FEBC is helping thousands to overcome COVID-19. During this time of lockdown and pandemic, listenership through many of our broadcasting stations has increased rapidly, with millions more tuning in and hearing the good news. Lives are being changed, and many are coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
As the alarming spread of COVID-19 continues to be uppermost in our thoughts and prayers, I would like to share with you our COVID-19 gift matching opportunity. We are so grateful to a faithful supporter who has agreed to match all donations towards COVID-19 relief projects up to $40,000 as we conclude our FEBC financial year in September. Whilst we, in Australia have access to the best resources and medical supplies to combat the pandemic, COVID-19 continues to spread in heavily populated countries across the globe where there is little food, sanitation, water or medical support to fight the disease. This is where our broadcasts are making such a difference.
Whilst FEBC’s primary mission is to bring the Gospel to the world through media, our field countries are finding themselves inundated with calls and requests for basic needs including food. As their friendly voice, the one they trust, our teams are not only reaching people with messages of hope through broadcasts, they are also connecting with listeners through practical acts of love. Our follow-up teams and partners on the ground around the world are providing much needed assistance through food parcels, care packages and counselling. Your support ensures we can continue doing what we can in the fight against COVID-19 and reflect Christ.
You may remember last year, we set up an urgent project for a new station in Northern Africa. I am so humbled to share with you just 6 months on, how your support has enabled such a spirit driven project to speak into the lives of hundreds of thousands, particularly during this ever changing pandemic. It has been most encouraging to hear and read stories of people seeking Christ for the first time and how isolation has encouraged new believers to begin praying together online and delving deeper into God’s word with the help of our broadcasts.
With news now breaking of COVID-19 also sweeping through Yemen, we pray that our shortwave and online programs which we have been committed to sharing for over 30 years, continue to reach the hearts of millions living in devastating circumstances. We pray that what they hear will bring them peace and hope.
We remain committed to keeping you connected with our field countries so that you can continue to pray and read first-hand how your support is bringing much needed relief, hope and eternal love into the most hardest to reach corners of the globe.
