Yemen is in turmoil, again. The recent air strikes spark fresh fear in a country locked in a humanitarian crisis since Houthi insurgents forcibly took control of the nation nine years ago. But amid this endless darkness, a community radio station is lighting up hope.
Once Excluded, Now Embraced
The marginalised of the impoverished. Al-Muhammasheen or “the Marginalised” – this is what the minority people group in Yemen known as the Muhammasheen call themselves. They are the untouchables of Yemeni society and in missional terms, a closed people group. But they are accepted by God. That is the message FEBC’s partners are bringing to them.
Hope for Hungry Hearts
Afraid. Grieving. Depressed. That is how more than half of Yemeni children are feeling, with more than one in five feeling this constantly. A far cry from the nation it once was in Biblical times, when it was under the rule of the Queen of Sheba. The country desperately needs the peace and hope that Jesus came to give more than 2000 years ago.
