Like many around the world, COVID-19 (coronavirus) is having a significant impact on the lives of Australians, and these are challenging times with the escalating and ever-changing response required to contain the spread of the virus.
Firstly, I wanted to convey to you my prayers, my concern and my heart for you personally and for your immediate family. These certainly are unprecedented, unique, extraordinary days the like of which none of us have ever experienced - and you as our support family are in our prayers.
Our Sunday’s as we have known them for our entire lifetimes now look very different. It has always been a day when the church normally gathers together to worship Christ; to give confession and receive forgiveness; to recognise our dependence on God’s provision and blessings; to be challenged to grow as disciples and be His witnesses sharing the Good News to a world in need. Yet due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) we are isolating, self-distancing; and in most countries not allowed to gather together at church.
At the same time for us as believers, and as those involved in making known God’s love and truth, His mercy and grace – I believe these are days of wonderful opportunity, possibilities and promise. I truly believe in the anointing, the power, and the purpose of FEBC – to communicate the Good News among the nations by media to inspire people to follow Jesus Christ. Thus, it is our time to stand up and fulfil our calling.
There is much to do… many difficulties, problems and struggles to face. But I shout “GOD IS FAITHFUL!” And WE are Overcomers in His Name for nothing can separate us from His love (Rom.8:28-39). Let us never lose hope.
Through our lives we have faced many things and always God has been faithful. Perhaps not always in the way we hoped, desired or prayed, yet always faithful. I know the same will be true now. In this edition of Skywaves, we want to acknowledge the reality of the present crisis, yet we also want to encourage your hearts with the truth that God is still in control sharing with you stories of how God’s love and the power of His spirit can bring about real change in people’s lives. When listeners hear broadcasts in their own language or dialect transformation takes place.
It is your prayers and gifts that sustain our life-giving ministry in some of the world’s most difficult places. Thank you! There are however, many in our world who still have not heard and so we - who have this calling, this mandate, this responsibility as believers; along with this platform, this media, this mission through FEBC - must continue to make known the Good News, especially now.
My friends, my family in faith, fellow servants in Jesus – I share personally and pray earnestly and sincerely for you and our world in this situation; I likewise ask for your prayers. Please pray for the millions globally who need to hear FEBC’s words of hope and peace during these uncertain times. And please pray for us, in the distribution of FEBC correspondence, information, and opportunities to engage in supporting the work. This is God’s work and we know and trust in God’s provision, which never fails. We can do this together.
May we encourage each other to turn to God and His Word for hope and comfort in these challenging times. Jesus remains Lord of all and our hope in Him will never fail, falter, or finish. Thank you so much once again for your invaluable partnership with us. Together, let’s continue to follow God as we continue to go into all the world, preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ.
"Rejoice in hope; be patient in troubles; and stay constant in prayer." Romans 12:12

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds."
