When Paul was imprisoned and in chains, his liberty taken away, he knew all was not lost. If we were with him during that time, he would have reminded us, “I may be a prisoner, but God’s word is not. I may be chained, but the word of God is not chained” (2 Timothy 2:8-13). I love that thought, because that is what FEBC is for millions right now – we are called by God to get the word of Jesus out to the world. His word can’t be chained or limited regardless of what’s happening around us. You simply can’t stop the unstoppable nature of the Gospel.
As the world moves forward, FEBC will keep serving the people with the message of Jesus Christ. We are reminded that nothing can thwart God’s plan. He cannot be chained. Yes, there may be days right now where there are limits upon us, but there are no limits to what God wants to do through us, especially during COVID-19 and into the future.
I am excited to share with you positive and inspiring updates from the field. During these periods of lockdown, listenership and communication to many of our radio stations globally has increased, with thousands more tuning in and hearing the good news .Lives are being changed and many are coming to know Jesus.
One of our key priorities during this time is to keep you connected with what is happening in the field countries we serve, so that you can continue to pray and support FEBC ministries. I write this as many are now facing extraordinary challenges, but also some wonderful opportunities to use radio and other forms of media to bring Christ to the people in a time of crisis. As the impact of COVID-19 is uppermost in our thoughts and prayers, it has been most encouraging to hear of people either turning back to God or seeking Him for the first time in their lives. Thousands are requesting prayer and that warms my heart.
2020 marks 75 years since FEBC first took to the airwaves. Whilst it doesn’t seem appropriate to be celebrating, I really hope you are encouraged and inspired by the stories you read within this anniversary edition of Skywaves. To us, this is the greatest form of celebration and we give thanks to how incredibly constant God has been since the beginning. The focus of our ministry remains unchanged – to creatively use radio and other forms of media to inspire people globally to follow Jesus Christ. We will continue to seek and pursue faithfully the part we believe God wants us to play in His mission.
Thank you so much once again for your invaluable partnership with us. I pray you and your families remain safe during this time.
In His Service,
